Swimming pool child admission policy
A responsible person, aged at least 16 years, must accompany all children under the age of eight into the swimming pools. They must go into the water with the children they are accompanying.
Introduction
While in the pool the responsible person must maintain a constant watch over the children for whom they are responsible and be in close contact with those of their children who are weak or non-swimmers.
Swimming pool admission criteria

Children under 4 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person on a one-to-one basis. |
Leisure Pool (Leisuredrome) |
Children under 4 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person on a one-to-one basis. Children aged between 4 and 7 must be accompanied by a responsible person on a maximum two-to-one basis. |
Teaching Pool |
Children under 4 years of age must be accompanied by a responsible person on a two-to-one basis. Children aged between 4 and 7 must be accompanied by a responsible person on a three-to-one basis. A combination of up to three mixed-aged children under the age of 8 who are non swimmers, as long as they are wearing suitable armbands and or floatation aids. |
Children who can swim
A child under the age of 8 years who can demonstrate a swimming ability as defined by management, must still be accompanied by responsible person, however would be exempt from the above child admission criteria ratios.
Please ask at reception for information relating to the defined swimming ability.
Private swimming lessons are strictly prohibited in any East Dunbartonshire Leisure & Culture Trust facility.
Where the above terms and conditions have not been met, management reserve the right to refuse entry.
