Service Updates

We’re on track to make Huntershill Sports Hub even better than ever, but it will involve some short-term disruption as we head into the summer.

We are delighted to inform EDLC customers that work is getting underway at Huntershill to upgrade the synthetic football pitches and athletics track – thanks to funding from East Dunbartonshire Council and external sources.

The goal is to ensure we provide the best facilities possible for people of all ages.

However, there will be some unavoidable disruption as a result. Managed bookings will continue to operate safely up until Sunday 3 May 2026, after which a full construction site will be erected.

That will mean that Huntershill Sports Hub will be closed for football and athletics bookings until the end of July 2026. Tennis and indoor Group Fitness activities will continue as normal.

We apologise for any inconvenience, but hope you can bear with us. When work is complete, football players will be able to enjoy two brand new FIFA Quality Mark synthetic pitches and local athletes will benefit from a number of enhancements to the ‘track and throws’ area.

Our partnership clubs have been working hard on alternative arrangements for displaced bookings during the period of works and it is hoped that EDLC can accommodate as many of them as possible until the close season.

Weather depending, the improvements should be completed in time for the start of the new football season.

We would ask local parents and guardians to ensure that their children don’t travel to the Sports Hub to kick a football around as the areas will be cordoned off to allow safe working conditions for the contractor.

Thank you for your patience – we look forward to welcoming everyone back at the start of August 2026.
