Service Updates

All Libraries are closed Friday 18 - Monday 21 April, with normal hours resuming on Tuesday 22 April.

Remember Your Digital Library is always open!

The 2025 Big Bobble Hats Bishopbriggs Triathlon takes place on Sunday 27 April 2025 – please plan ahead if you're attending the Leisuredrome.

The annual event – organised by a local triathlon club – involves swimming, a closed-road cycle and a canal path run.

There will be no public access to the three swimming pools or Health Suite at the Leisuredrome, Bishopbriggs, on Sunday 27 April. Kirkintilloch and Allander Leisure Centre pools will be open as normal.

The Leisuredrome Sports Hall will be closed to the public until 4pm on the Sunday.

For all customers going to The Gym, classes, soft play and other bookable activities, the car park will be closed until 5pm so please park safely and legally if driving to the centre, and allow an additional 10 minutes before your start time.

Balmuildy Road will be closed between the Leisuredrome and ATL Environmental Village from 10am-4pm on the Sunday. There will be no access to Mavis Valley Recycling Centre during that time. Access for emergency services will be accommodated if required.

Apologies for any inconvenience.

We are beginning work on pool hall guttering and repairing the frontage of Kirkintilloch Leisure Centre on Monday 31 March.

This will mean we have fewer parking bays available while work crews operate, including reduced disabled parking. We will create temporary bays in the meantime and would remind customers to be mindful of other visitors and only park in marked disabled bays if you have a blue badge.

The works are expected to continue for 10 weeks. We will provide an update if there are any changes to this schedule.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while the repairs are ongoing. We, too, have been eagerly awaiting the removal of the 'big sticking plaster' from the face of the building!

Following further investigative works by structural engineers into the presence of reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) on the rear roof of Bearsden Community Hub, it has now been confirmed that the facility will remain closed until the roof is fully replaced.

As a result, the following interim arrangements are now in place:
